Makoto’s is a favorite go to Japanese steak house located in Boone Nc for my wife and I. Our kiddos like the show but fairly picky eaters so we don’t take them. We do see lots of children there when we go enjoying the food and show. We have been several times and does not disappoint. The staff always seems to be welcoming, the chefs are both skilled and fun. I highly recommend giving this a try.

Fantastic Experience! Excellent Performance from our chef! He was quite the comedian. Food was generous and delicious! The hibachi Steak was especially tender. Ginger salad was fresh and tasty! and finished with the flaming plantains. Always a great meal and the staff was very attentive! . Thank You

Delicious steak and shrimp. I was thrown off that the only cut of steak you could choose for hibachi was filet. It’s a little different from other Japanese steak houses in the sauce choices but essentially the same experience. If you like that format, you will get it here. Fun and food with family.

I planned a vacation to Boone for my husbands birthday and wanted to cater hibachi for his party. I had never visited the restaurant and communicated with Gwen through email only. Because of this, I was obviously nervous but everything went so smoothly!! The food was ready on time, seasoned to perfection and we even had leftovers. If we are ever in the area again we won’t hesitate to stop at Makotos. Thank you again!!!!!!

We went here for a family member’s Birthday and had an extremely large party, 16 or more. They were able to accommodate us at two separate tables which was fine with us. The chef did an awesome job and kept us entertained and laughing. Food was wonderful! They allowed us to bring in our own Birthday cake which was really nice! The only down side was that it was really hot in there. I know it’s hot with all those cook tops going but there was 0 airflow and so stuffy. We were all sweating but it’s worth it for hibachi!!

It is my first time here! I was eating alone but never felt alone with people I sit with and chef and waiter was awesome! And the foods was yummy as well!
